Infusion RN Per Diem 
Tucson, AZ 85745
Position Summary:  The Infusion RN primarily coordinates and performs infusion nursing for patients in the home setting; administers skilled nursing care; participates in teaching patients and significant others in home medical management. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Provide direct patient care as required, i.e. peripheral IV starts, lab draws, dressing changes.
  • Conduct initial and subsequent nursing assessments and evaluation for patients receiving home infusion therapy.
  • Train patients and/or caregivers in procedures and equipment.
  • Consult with pharmacists and physicians regarding patient treatment, medical condition, and home environment.
  • Be responsible for initial/ongoing patient contact and routine follow-up phone calls.
  • Visit all assigned patients per protocol and documents accordingly.
  • Monitor compliance, competence, and tolerance to prescribed therapy, interventions and progress.
  • Maintain and update, per policy, clinical documentation which includes, but is not limited to; daily visit logs, AOB's, delivery tickets, on-call logs, assessments, subsequent notes, care plans, medication profiles, plan of treatment, case conference notes, progress notes, discharge summary and any other paperwork required by the company.
  • Ensure documentation is completed, updated, and maintained in a timely and orderly fashion according to policy and Nurse Manager.
  • Provide other healthcare professionals with feedback on patients and gives suggestions for changes in procedure/ protocol.
  • Assume on-call and holiday responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participates in in-services, meetings, and case conferences as required and requested.
  • Inventory patient's supplies while in the home and communicates to appropriate technician.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Program.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, B.S.N. preferred.
  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse. 
  • Minimum of 2 years current nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy, including patient assessment skills, venous access skills, and emergency patient care. 
  • A minimum 1-year previous specialized home health experience desired. PICC training preferred.
  • CPR certification required.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. 
  • Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule. Telemetry, Infusion, ICU, or Emergency experience preferred: 1 year
